Integrative Aquatic Therapy
Unfolding from the Inside Out
Water is a profound multidimensional environment that allows us to unfold, expand and become aware of ourselves from the inside out. By merging a number of aquatic modalities and fields of expertise Sophia has created a fluid continuum of experience that allows her to safely and securely support the entire birth journey from conception, pregnancy, birth and postnatally in water.
As a pregnancy and birth doula and an end-of-life spiritual companion, Sophia holds space for the entire Life Cycle on land and in water, so that we can remember, close loops and integrate more of who we are as multidimensional humans. She particularly enjoys working with couples or entire families in water helping them release intergenerational patterns and create new paradigms.
Sophia offers a number of aquatic bodywork experiences depending on weather conditions as well as land sessions.
“While immersed in warm water, remembering the details of my own birth journey, I began to see birth from a baby’s perspective.”
Sophia lives on the island of Corfu in Greece where she was born because this is where she feels the happiest and resonate the deepest, though her services are global. She has been working on embodying more of who she is for nearly thirty years while inspiring and supporting others to do the same.
As a pregnancy and birth doula she currently supports future parents prepare for conception, pregnancy and birth so that they can welcome their babies physically, emotionally and spiritually with presence and awareness in these urgent times. She is founder of the Pregnancy and Birth Network of Kerkyra and proudly support home birthing on the island of Corfu.
As an aquatic perinatal therapist and a certified infant and baby educator, she also works with people of all ages, skills and abilities both on land and in water to integrate their birth experiences and ‘memories’ stored in their bodies to restore a deep sense of trust in life and in themselves.
