About
Maher Cissoko, a Senegalese kora player and percussionist, residing in Sweden, embodies a griot legacy of storytelling and musical heritage. His groovy compositions are rooted in forgiveness and peace and reflect the historical role of griots during adversity. Maher’s music speaks for change, healing, and unity, carrying the ancestral wisdom to resonate globally.
Sousou Cissoko, singer/songwriter from Sweden, possesses a captivating voice that transcends cultures, uniting hearts globally. Among the rare female kora players worldwide, her journey in mastering the enchanting instrument led her to study under revered kora masters across West Africa. Immersed in griot traditions since the age of 19, and growing up in a music family playing folk, blues and pop music her musical background extends beyond vocals and kora to various instruments, embodying a lifelong passion for melodies and connection.
