In this workshop we will explore our amphibian origins, reconnecting to water and earth.

We will begin on the beach, grounding through somatic practices and connecting to the elements: earth’s solidity, the texture of the sand, the sun’s warmth, the whispers of the wind…Through guided invitations, we will explore early developmental movement patterns.

Transitioning into the sea, following the principles of contact improvisation we will relate to the element water in new ways. Nature becomes our dance partner, guiding our movement, until we extend this exploration to play with other bodies.

All bodies and abilities welcomed!

Eli’s work explores the interconnectedness of body, mind, and spirit. With a background in yoga, bodywork, and dance, she’s passionate about the transformative power of water. Based in Corfu, she offers water therapy and water dance, and is creatress of the Flying Pool Project, a heated pool dedicated to aquatic arts. She is co-creatress of Corfu Contact Festival and other events, focusing on authentic expression and embodied presence.

Description

A ripple of people formed in circles in the water are organized together to begin a meditation. A guided meditation by Manoela & drum by Violetta – connects all to drop in & allow the pure & maternal essence of water to rise. The purpose is to let everyone soften for the next act; a partner is chosen to support them floating, until the partners switch and experience the other way around.
Facilitators guide how to support the body floating, and to take care of them as their babies. Gentle movements & massage help to loosen and gain trust.
To close the experience partners face each other in the water and share they gratitude note.

Please bring a bathing suit, towels & sarong.

Sirens & water spirits are real from the eyes and essence of Manoela, she moves like water as she allows water to become her. Manoela holds space for water floating since a few years, and guides receivers to become liquid and cherish the new life that water creates. The only thing we need to do, if possible, is to lay down some large sheets on the sand so that the participants don’t get covered in sand.
